Storytelling & Character Creation Theater Series

This is a theater class with a twist: instead of starting with a script, we start with imagination.

In this playful, creative series, young actors will build their own characters, invent stories, create scenes, and bring their ideas to life on stage. Rather than following a traditional theater-class structure, students will learn through creating, playing, experimenting, and performing.

Each class becomes part of the storytelling process. Students might begin with a character idea, discover who that character is, imagine their world, develop a story, and then turn that story into a scene or short play. Along the way, they’ll explore acting, movement, voice, teamwork, improvisation, and stage presence—but always in service of the story they are creating.

The emphasis is on character, creativity, collaboration, and the joy of making something from scratch.
